I’m slowly getting back into the swing of things after an amazing holiday away visiting friends in Australia, China and Japan. While I was away, a selection of my new paintings were hung in my local gallery! The paintings are also available on the gallery’s online shop.
As part of my Play to Win challenge I’d set myself a goal of approaching a few galleries to see if they’d hang my new collection. It’s one of the most daunting things I’ve ever done. Opening myself up for feedback is something I struggle with at the best of times, let alone being critiqued on something so close to my heart. But with my Play to Win deadline looming, I knew I had to go through with it. So I did. And now rather than sitting around waiting for people to tell me what they think, I’m off to paint some more.
Someone shared a great Andy Warhol quote with me this week that made me determined to keep creating… “Don’t think about making art, just get it done. Let everyone else decide if it’s good or bad, whether they love it or hate it. While they are deciding, make even more art.”
