Over the long weekend the hubby made me watch Dead Poet’s Society. I’m not sure what I was up to in the 80s but it certainly wasn’t watching movies. As a result, I seem to have missed nearly every block buster including Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, The Breakfast Club and I’m ashamed to admit..Dirty Dancing. So every now and then, the hubby sits me down and gives me the 80s education my small town childhood seems to have deprived me.
To say I loved Dead Poets Society would be an understatement. My all time favourite quote was this, “Boys, you must strive to find your own voice. Because the longer you wait to begin, the less likely you are to find it at all. Thoreau said, “Most men lead lives of quiet desperation.” Don’t be resigned to that. Break out!”. I love this quote (and the movie) because it sums up what my 30 Day Challenge meant to me. It gave me the strength to find my voice. And it gave me the courage to use it.. LOUDLY!
We’re off on our (belated) honeymoon and will be spending the next six days lounging about in sunny Rarotonga. The timing couldn’t be any more perfect. But it’s not all over – I’ve signed up for a 3 month Play to Win challenge starting mid-June. But for now, it’s over and out. I’m off to rest my voice.
