Perfectly imperfect

August 10, 2012 by Sarah

When I get a wee bit stressed, my Top Dog craves perfection. And when perfection (obviously) doesn’t ensue, Top Dog freaks out and starts convincing me I’m well below standard. But the more I paint, the more I realise that neat and tidy is boring and dull. In fact, the more imperfect a painting is, the more real it seems – and the more beautiful it appears.

Here’s my latest attempt at embracing imperfection. It’s on a big canvas of 30×15 inches, which I figure gives me more room for all those wonderful ‘mistakes’. This one’s for sale peeps – so drop me a line if you’re interested. I need to clear a bit of space to perfect the art of being imperfect!
